Early Years

The most important years of learning begins at birth. During these early years, humans are capable of absorbing more information than later on. The learning capacity of a young mind is great, termed as “Absorbent Mind” by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educator best known for the philosophy of education that bears her name. By the age of three, the child has already laid the foundation of his/her personality as a human being. High quality teachers and pre-schools can have a long term effect on improving outcomes.

With this idea as the guiding force and more than 20 years of hands-on experience, New Era School started a pre-school in 2014 aptly named “NEEV” dedicated for our young learners.

We, at NEEV have meticulously designed a mix of different preschool methodologies such as Montessori, Waldorf, Head Start, Forest Kindergarten etc. NEEV aims at striking a balance between a child’s academic, social, emotional, physical, creative and developmental needs. Hence, our classrooms are designed & the program is prepared and structured to take advantage of a child’s sensitive years between 1.5 and 5 years of age where your child begins to absorb information from an enriched environment.

At NEEV, your child will grow and learn in a cheerful, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere that emphasizes a love for learning. Our classrooms & creative materials encourage interaction to promote a child’s means of expressions, creativity, problem-solving & thinking skills. Playing with others, participating in small & large group activities, sharing and following directions will enhance a child’s emotional development.

Our Early Years curriculum is founded on the belief that each child is a competent, eager learner who has already made many discoveries about the world. The task of the teachers is to provide an environment that is rich with opportunities to nurture each child’s ability to grow and develop emotionally, intellectually, and physically. Teachers take the role of guide or coach and help children learn how to assist themselves through self-advocacy. They also help children understand and become aware with their emotions.

All this is prepared and achieved by a developmentally appropriate and rigorous curriculum developed by incorporating world’s best childhood/early learning practices such as Montessori, Reggio-Emilia approach, multiple intelligences, Waldorf, SEE learning and many more.

Together we build a community of learners who practice self-advocacy. Sharing and caring for materials, listening as well as contributing in discussions, asking questions and finding answers, making good decisions about choosing activities and interacting with others, and being able to sustain attention are all essential goals. Social and emotional skills provide the framework for children to get the most out of any learning experience.

How We Teach

We honour questions, exploration, intrinsic motivation, and creativity. Here, our students lead, teach, interact, and learn through collaboration, cooperation, and observation. They experience many firsts in our child-centered classrooms. They are encouraged to try new things, be curious, and see the many routes to success. They are also urged to express their feelings, connect socially, develop interests and affinities that support self-esteem, and recognize that effort is more important than perfection.

Students work together while pursuing their own interests, under the guidance of our dedicated and well-trained teachers and staff, with access to age-appropriate technology and opportunities for community service. They also enjoy activities and programs in school and through field trips that enhance classroom activities and provide new experiences.
